HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

To my husband, father, and brothers. You're all wonderful dads.

Zander: thank you for being such an amazing father. Noah adores you, and I love watching the two of you spending time together and growing those amazing father-son bonds.

Inconsiderate Fools

I'm amazed lately at how often I find people being inconsiderate to each other. Life long friends, siblings, spouses, strangers, I see it everywhere. Granted often it's probably unintentional, but I think that sometimes it's almost become habit in certain situations. People have become so selfish that they are oblivious tot he people around them, and how even a stranger can be affected by their actions.

So this is my plea. Become more aware of the people around you, be nice to family, friends, and strangers. You never know how far your small actions will go, and how they will affect people, for both good and bad.

Note: In no way am I trying to say that I am not sometimes inconsiderate as well, but at least I'm working on it.

First Birthday Bash

We had Noah's birthday party last Saturday. It was a fairly standard event, pizza, lots of kids everywhere, presents, and then the all-traditional smashing of the cake.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!!

This last year has gone by so fast, I thought I'd take a minute to remember all of the amazing things that Noah has learned and accomplished in his first year of life. He learned to sit up on his own, eat solid foods, roll over, smile, laugh, crawl (in his own special way), talk, stand on his own, go up and down the stairs, wave goodbye and so many other little things. He's a hilarious little boy that keeps us laughing all day long, and never knowing what to expect. Noah, you're awesome, and we love you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Noah Videos

I've taken a bunch of cute videos of Noah in the last few weeks, so here they are!!!

This is what Noah's bath time looks like lately. More often than not I end up having to change my clothes afterward because I'm soaked. Not to mention I have to mop up all the water from the walls and floor around the tub.

Noah has always liked played in my closet. There's an upright mirror, a whole bunch of shoes, and all sorts of other interesting things to play with. Lately though he plays with the clothes that are hanging up, and usually all of them at once.

At about 9 months, Noah developed his "scrunchy face". He crinkles his nose and makes an almost hissing noise. It took us this long to get it on camera, and he even snorted for us.

Sometimes I wish I was a cold-blooded animal so I would have an excuse to lay in the sun every morning.

Bath Time

Noah was really grumpy and tired and ready for bed early tonight, so we gave him a bath to stall and make him happy. Zander officiated the bath tonight, and it's adorable to watch the two of them spazz together.

Mosquitos are evil!

We were outside for a couple hours on Thursday night with a bunch of neighbors drinking/eating root beer floats and generally having a good time. Until the mosquito's came out. Conversations were interrupted constantly by people swatting their bodies randomly, or flailing their arms in attempts to keep the mean little blood-suckers at bay. All of our attempts of course were worthless and we were all quite literally eaten alive. I thankfully had jeans on, so my legs were spared the agony. But those nasty little things left my arms alone and instead bit me through my shirt. I have bites on my shoulders, back, and hip. Zander, unfortunately, was wearing shorts while we were out and his legs are covered in itchy little red spots. Thankfully Noah was asleep in the house for all of this and was spared the itchy torment.

A Day of Broken Things

Yesterday, everything decided to break. In the morning Comcast came out to the house to fix the internet that wasn't working right, and in the process managed to ruin our tv reception. He said something about how we were getting a tv signal and asked if we were paying for it, I said no, we have an antenna, so he disconnected whatever he thought he was supposed to disconnect so that we weren't getting 'free' comcast tv anymore. Well, turns out he disconnected our antenna, so we no longer had the free tv that we were supposed to be getting.

Our computer got a fairly severe virus a few months ago and never fully recovered. It does random things, and most notably shuts down whenever we run a particular program. So over the weekend we wiped the hard-drive and reinstalled everything. It still shuts down when we run that program, so we called customer support and they said to make sure all of the drivers were up to date.....which they are. So we're still fighting that.

Around 6 Zander was upstairs (working on the computer problems) and noticed that the thermostat said that it was 78, which is bad because it's set to turn the AC on at 75. So we pushed a bunch of buttons on the thermostat, and it still wasn't getting the AC to start running. So Zander went down into the utility room and fiddled around with things (probably kicked a few things) and got it to start running again.

Like I said, it was a day of broken things...
